overview
With over two decades of experience working for leading international and Australian architectural firms (including Base Architecture & Mirvac), it was time for principal architect Giova Fellows to step out on her own. Her vision? To establish a practice able to deliver a more personalised level of service, and the personal touches that too often go begging when dealing with larger firms.
challenge
With Giova’s guidance, the team at Quod have delivered projects across a variety of scales — from home renovations and extensions to multi-residential townhouse developments, and from boutique workplaces through to international franchises, but how do you set the brand apart from the rest? With many architectural firms focusing on minimalism, we sought to rebrand Quod to rival the competition.
solution
The inspiration for the logo was derived from a screen Giova had created for one of her latest projects. Balancing minimalism with geometric forms shaped the basis of the brand identity. The logo consists of shapes pulled from the screen which where later also used as accompanying background elements through proposal documents, stationary and website. The colours chose lend themselves to Australia's native flora and fauna, embodying a gum like colour palette that accentuates the natural colours of Australian timber used in projects such as the renovation of suburban Queenslanders.
